A clear answer from every transformer.

Megawatch Morgan™ provides simple, scalable transformer-state monitoring, delivering greater real-time visibility of LV networks.

Untitled design (8).png

Know exactly which transformers have supply.

Morgan™ is a compact, non-invasive sensor that detects whether a distribution transformer is energised and transmitting power, even when conventional systems don't show an outage.

An independent unit, there is nothing to wire in and no connection to the network it watches.

Simple. Reliable. Purpose-built for the distribution network.

Morgan™ combines two independent physical signals to determine transformer status.

Rather than measuring voltage, current or load, it looks for the characteristics of an energised transformer.

Detects the transformer magnetic field

Energy, Signal, and Security Icons_edited.png

Morgan™ senses the magnetic field generated when a transformer is energised, allowing it to determine whether the unit has supply.

Monitors the transformer
vibration

Morgan™ also measures vibration patterns that indicate normal transformer operation, helping to improve status confidence.

Communicates transformer status
in real time

Status information is transmitted over a secure, low-power LoRaWAN® network to your existing systems, providing field-level visibility at scale.

Better visibility. Better decisions.

Morgan™ helps network operators respond faster, use resources more effectively and improve customer outcomes.

Confirm before dispatching

Check transformer supply status' before sending crews into the field, supporting faster fault assessment and more effective deployment of resources.

Map storm restoration

Watch supply return transformer by transformer, and see the pockets still off.

Find the outages SCADA can't see

A blown fuse on one transformer can leave a street in the dark without registering at feeder level. Morgan™ detects and reports it.

Support the control room

Operators have a live, transformer-level view to make better switching and restoration decisions.

Put Megawatch to work
on your Network

We are working with a small number of operators on pilot deployments for Megawatch Morgan™. Talk to us about gaining visibility for your network.

For the days the network

needs it most.

Outages cluster in storms and weather events, exactly when cellular networks are congested and crews are stretched.

Morgan's battery does not depend on the grid it is watching, and LoRaWAN links can span kilometres between a sensor and its gateway.

Designed for

the field.

Morgan™ is self-contained and independent with its own power and its own radio.

Morgan™ can be magnetically attached to the outside of a distribution transformer using a hot stick from ground level, without requiring direct hand placement, drilling or an electrical connection.

Mounting & connection

Magnetically attaches to the outside of the transformer tank. No drilling, brackets, straps or electrical connection required.

Transformer

Designed for pole-mounted and ground-mounted distribution transformers.

Power & service life

Powered by a single primary lithium (Li-MnO₂) cell, designed for long, unattended service without mains power or solar.

Housing

UV-resistant ASA housing with conformally coated electronics.

Communication & security

LoRaWAN® (AS923-1), using the standard LoRaWAN security model.

Event reporting

Reports loss and restoration of supply as events, without waiting for scheduled polling.

Sensor health

Regular heartbeat messages provide sensor health data.
